Hillcroft is just a short walk from the rocky shore line of Loch Snizort where you can often see seals and otters, cormorants, oyster catchers and herons, plus a wide variety of seabirds on Aird Point.
Futher afield, the Trotternish ridge, the Quirang and the Old Man of Storr are just a short drive away, and the famous Cuillin is about a 40 minute drive.
There is a 9-hole golf course at nearby Skeabost Hotels where a day’s fishing can also be arranged, and pony trekking is available at Suledale. There is a wealth of beautiful arts and crafts in Skye and galleries and workshops displaying ceramics, silver, painting, knitwear, pottery, woodwork and photography.
There are several fine eating places nearby, including Skeabost House Hotel and Country Club at Skeabost Bridge, The Lodge at Edinbane, Greshornish House on the shores of Loch Greshornish, The Stein Inn and The Loch Bay Fish Restaurant both at Stein, with the renowned The Three Chimneys Restaurant at Colbost just a 20 minute drive from the house.
